Parakeet is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was remodeled on September 16th, 2022.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is extremely small. It's completely pink, with a gray body and yellow hairs. It has a red beak, it also features brown eyes, and it lacks talons.

Adult

The adult budgerigar is one of the smallest adult birds in the game. It has a green chest with a yellow face, body and coverts. It has black tail and wing feathers. It has many stripes of the back of its head and body. It has tan feet with four talons: two in the back and two in the front. It has a yellow, hooked beak, a blue cere and tan eyes.

Trivia

General

• Prior to the Cardinal update, Parakeet was a Standard. However, the Cardinal update moved Parakeet to the Unlockable category.
• The adult's Sit animation when done on the ground will cause its tail to clip into the ground. This animation is shared with Macaw and both skins of Cockatoo as an animation intended for perches.
• When the Parrot (Now known as Macaw) was remodeled, it had its name changed to Macaw to avoid confusion with Parakeet, due to them having very similar names and because parakeets are kinds of parrots.

Budgerigar Based

• Often mistaken for being a tropical bird in many role-plays, the Parakeet used in Feather Family is a desert animal.
• As the cere of the adult is blue, the default Parakeet is a male.

Parakeet is a playable bird in Feather Family. This species skin was added on May 1st 2023 with the Cockatoo skin.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is extremely small and mostly a light brown. It has a pink beak and lighter pink legs as well as brown eyes and a medium green tail tuft.

Adult

The adult is a small bird with a variety of greens across its body. Its head to its back are light green while its underbelly is a yellow-green color, the middle of its tail is a slightly darker green than the body and the wings are a much darker green. It has a dark pink beak and blue eyes as well as black markings on its face, one just above the beak and one around its neck connecting to each side of the beak. The two sides of its tail are yellow and its feet are a very light pink.

Ringneck Based

• Ringneck Parakeet's Display animation is rather odd among others. Rather than being an actual Display, it's more of it observing something and being startled by it. This is likely a reference to some media as Macaw's Display is.
