Osprey is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was added on June 28th, 2024.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a somewhat small bird mainly covered in cream white and brown. It has a sharp stone gray beak and orange eyes surrounded by brown streaks that go from above its eye to around the middle of the beak. Its back and parts of its torso are brown while the rest of its body is cream white. It has gray legs with three toes in front and one toe on the back of each foot.

Adult

The osprey is a medium sized bird covered in cream white and dark brown. It has a sharp stone gray beak and yellow eyes surrounded by a dark brown streak that goes down the neck to the body. The back of its head is tufted with the middle feathers being dark brown. The rest of the head and neck are cream white. It has a cream white underside and dark brown back and coverts. Its primaries and secondaries are cream white with dark brown feathers. Its tail is white with dark brown stripes and tips. It has gray legs with two toes in front and two toes on the back of each foot and a black talon on each toe.

• Eyes - Closes or opens eyes.
• Fly - Osprey takes flight.

Trivia

• Osprey is the first bird whose diving animation isn't it darting down head-first. It instead stretches its legs out with its wings spread and head back, in reference to how ospreys hunt fish.
  • Bald eagles do this as well but Eagle wasn't given this animation despite being changed in Osprey's release update.
