Nightjar is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was added on March 4th, 2022.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a tiny bird with a relatively large head and wide eyes mostly obscured by its eyelids. The majority of the body is a light brown, with the underbelly being a slightly brownish white. It has brown tail plumage, brown eyes and pinkish-brown legs.

Adult

Male

The male is a small, primarily dark brown bird with strikingly large eyes. It has a muted brown face with a small beak. Its neck is white while its chest is a caramel sort of color covered in brown stripes. The wing limbs are brown while the rest of the wings are caramel with brown patterning. Its upper tail feathers are dark brown while the lower tail feathers are white. It has long black ribbon-like feathers coming from its wings. The interior of the mouth is red.

Female

The female is a small, primarily dark brown bird with strikingly large eyes. It has a muted brown face with a small beak. Its neck is white while its chest is a dull brown covered in brown stripes. The wing limbs are brown while the rest of the wings are dull brown with brown patterning. Its upper tail feathers are dark brown while the lower tail feathers are white. The interior of the mouth is red.

Nightjar is a playable bird in Feather Family. This skin was added on September 15th, 2023 with Red Bellied Woodpecker.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a tiny bird with a relatively large head and wide eyes mostly obscured by its eyelids. The majority of the body is a grayish brown, with the underbelly being a grayish white. It has dark gray tail plumage, brown eyes and gray legs.

Adult

The adult is a small, primarily dark brown bird with strikingly large eyes. It has a white throat and a small beak. Its chest is a dull brown with black curve patterns. The wing limbs are brown with black curves while the rest of the wing feathers are dull brown with brown stripes. Its upper tail feathers are brown with dark brown stripes while the lower tail feathers are white, only being visible on the sides from a behind or upper view. On its head is a curved display dipping in the middle of its head and rising to the sides. The top of this display is dull brown with black curved while the sides have very dark brown feathers puffing from the sides. Its feet are gray with black talons.
