Macaw is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was added on November 16th, 2018 alongside Peafowl.
Overview
Hatchling
The hatchling is a small bird with a broad, hooked beak as tall as its face. It has average sized eyes, large masks around its eyes, and small feathers poking out from its head. It has a round body with average sized wings and small feathers poking out from its back. Its tail pokes out of a small tuft on its rear. Each foot has three toes in front and one in the back.
Adult
The adult is a medium sized bird with a broad, hooked beak as tall as its face. It has average sized eyes and giant masks around its eyes. It has a long, skinny body with large wings. Its tail is as long as its body and has a stretched maple leaf shape. Each foot has three toes in front and one in the back, each with a talon.

- Eat - Lowers body to quickly scoop up and down while constantly biting.
- Hurt - Falls on its back with legs dangling up, wings spread, and head facing upwards to its right.

Trivia
General
- Prior to its 2021 remodel, Macaw was named Parrot. Its name was changed to avoid confusion with Parakeet, since parakeets are a kind of parrot.
- When renamed, owners of Parrot would have to re-purchase Macaw since the game doesn't recognize it as the same bird.
- Peafowl and Macaw were the first unlockables added to the game, added alongside Unlockables as a feature.
- Macaw's unique sit animation where its tail pokes down is shared with Parakeet and Cockatoo. This animation is meant for sitting on perches or branches.
Scarlet-Based
- Macaw's original model was based off a blue-and-gold macaw, but the remodel changed it to a scarlet macaw.
- Scarlet Macaw's Display animation is very likely based on how the parrots in Minecraft dance.
- ShinyGriffin once made a game called 🦜💕, now Minigames, where the player would be a blocky parrot and be able to do a dance resembling the Minecraft parrot dance. This game still exists as a game inside of Minigames. It's unknown whether this was some sort of foreshadowing or not, but it's unlikely.
- Patcha105 has models of the original Macaw's models without their feet in their inventory.
