Trivia[]
- Loon shares a unique quality with Auk, Penguin, Cormorant, Gannet, Great Auk, Hesperornis, and Cockatrice where it can swim extremely fast and stay idle underwater.
- Though the Loon hatchling is not aquatic by these standards (as it cannot idle underwater), it still swims much faster than it normally would.
- Loon is the only bird in the game whose idle doesn't have its legs stretched. This makes it appear sitting and most of its animations have it near the ground.
- Loon has the slowest ground speed in the game. This is because loons are specially adapted to being in water and in the air, so their legs were moved further back and hence their walking is severely hindered.
- Hesperornis, whose animations are based on loon movement, is also very slow on land. Interestingly, neither its walk or run animations are used on Loon.
- The adult Loon’s walking animation has very uneven movement in its legs, with the left leg being under the body moving higher while the right leg is stretched out from the body and doesn’t move as high. This was intentionally done to show the Loon’s inability to hold its own weight on land.
