Kelenken is a playable bird in Feather Family. This skin was added on July 25th, 2025 alongside the release of Dromornis.
Overview
Hatchling
The hatchling is a somewhat large, upright bird with a tall, medium-length sharp beak. It has a long head with average-sized eyes and rows of spiky feathers on the back of its head. It has a somewhat long neck and a somewhat plump body with a back and underside, featuring more spiky feathers on the back. Its wings are tiny. Its tail is a downwards-pointing group of spiky feathers. Its legs are long with three toes in front and one in the back.
Adult
The adult is a giant, upright bird with a long, hooked beak. It has a long head with a long mask almost as tall as the head surrounding its eyes. Its eyes are average-sized with slight brows over the top. The top and back of its head have rows of spiky head feathers. It has a long neck. It has a long body with a back and underside. Its wings are small. Its tail starts around its rear, being a two-layered fan under some bushy feathers on its rear. Its legs are thick with three toes in front and none in the back, each with a talon. The inner toe of each foot is lifted with a hook-shaped sickle claw. It naturally stands with its left foot in front.

- Run - Increases ground speed, triggers running animation.
- Call - Quickly extends head forward, right leg back and wings down to make a light squawk.
- Sit - Sits down with legs pushed back.
- Eat - Extends left foot and brings head forward to briefly nip before lowering head to left foot to bite then drag head up.
- Hurt - Falls on its back with head facing forward, legs dangling up and wings spread back.
- Eyes - Toggles eyes being shut.
Adult

- Call - Gently raises head with mouth open to make a low-pitched squawk-like noise.
- Sit - Sits down.
- Eat - Extends left foot and brings head forward to briefly nip before lowering head to left foot to bite then drag head up.
- Hurt - Falls on its left with right wing hanging over body, right leg bent into body, head facing forward and left leg facing where the head is.
- Display - Backs right foot up and tilts body down to gently bring head up before snapping it down to its left with some wing flaps.

Trivia
General
- Excluding sales being added and reverted, Kelenken is the first bird to have two price changes. It was released at a price of 1,600 Feathers, then increased to 1,700 in the Gastornis update then increased to 1,800 in the Dromornis update.
- When Kelenken costed 1,700 Feathers, it was the only Summer of Fossils 2020 bird to not have a price multiple of 200. The Dromornis update price changed made it a multiple of 200 again.
Updated-Based
- Updated Kelenken came out exactly five years after Kelenken's release.
- If the hatchling calls while sitting, the middle toe of its right foot stands up during the animation. This is supposed to be how the toe moves in its regular Call animation where that foot moves back.
- Updated Kelenken was hinted at when the lab redesign in the Bustard update added a custom-modeled Kelenken skeleton. Dodo also had a custom lab skeleton and received an Updated skin, giving more evidence towards Updated Kelenken's eventual release.

Its eyes are average-sized and simple with brows over the top. The top and back of its have a total of four large, leaf-shaped feathers. It has a long neck. It has a long body with a back and underside. Its wings are small. Its tail is a two-layered fan with three feathers in each layer underneath another group of three feathers. Its legs are thick with three toes in front and none in the back, each with a talon.
