Hornbill is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was released February 5th, 2022.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a small, primarily black bird with small legs and, for a chick, large wings. It has a relatively large light brown beak, as well as a small light brown bump on its head. It has a white underbelly as well as white tail plumage. The feet are gray.

Adult

The adult is a somewhat small bird with primarily black plumage. It has a white underbelly and a mostly white tail with a stripe of black on each tail feather. The beak is notable large compared to the body and has a large horn-like casque sticking out from the top. The beak itself is mostly orange, with the casque and part of the beak near the face being red.

• Interestingly, when Hornbill was added, the game’s title referred to it as “hornbird”but it was simply referred to by its normal name in the game title for Red Billed’s addition.

Rhinoceros-Based

• Hornbill was initially scheduled to be released on February 4th, 2022. However, some animations were corrupted and caused the release to be pushed to February 5th.
• Because the Hornbill's eyes are by default light blue, this makes the default hornbill a female, as Rhinoceros Hornbill males have red eyes, whereas females have white eyes.

Hornbill is a playable bird in Feather Family. This skin was released September 1st, 2023 alongside Common Kingfisher.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a small bird with gray feathers on its body and no feathers across its head and neck, being a dull pink. It has a relatively large yellow beak. It has a white underbelly as well as black tail plumage. Its feet are pink.

Adult

The adult is a somewhat small bird with a variety of grayscale colored feathers across its body. It has a crescent shaped orange beak with a black bit on the lower half close to the throat. Its face and throat are light gray with yellow eyes and a white streak along its eye going across the back of its neck. It also has a black stripe on the cap of its head with small feathers poking out the front. Its body is white with a black back. Its coverts are black with white markings while its primaries are black and its secondaries are white. Its upper tail is black while its lower tail is white. Its feet are gray with black talons.
