Trivia
General
- Hoopoe was at one point planned to not have a skin, with ShinyGriffin using as an example of a bird which wouldn't receive a skin along with Secretary in an email.
Eurasian-Based
- Similarly to Woodpecker and Sparrow, Hoopoe undulates its wings during flight, meaning that it tucks its wings in every few flaps.
- Eurasian Hoopoe is the only bird remodeled in the Wood Hoopoe and Spix's Macaw update to not be a member of Psittaciformes.

General
- Hoopoe was at one point planned to not have a skin, with ShinyGriffin using as an example of a bird which wouldn't receive a skin along with Secretary in an email.
Wood-Based
- Wood Hoopoe and its release partner, the Spix's Macaw, are the first birds to release on a Thursday instead of Friday. Their early arrival was announced on September 2nd. It's unknown why they arrived early.
- Interestingly, the hatchling's call seems to be a pitch-shift of the adult Rhinoceros Hornbill's call.
