Heron is a playable bird in Feather Family. This bird was added on April 19th, 2024, alongside the Great Egret skin.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a medium sized bird with a long neck for its body. It has a long gray beak which spans to its face, surrounding its yellow eyes. The top of its head is black with sparse feathers while the rest is white. Its neck and chest are pale brown. Its body and wings consist of faded blues, with a lighter blue on the back, medium blue on the wings, and dark blue on the tail. Its legs are gray and very long, with three toes in front and one toe in the back of each foot.

Adult

The adult is a large, tall bird with a long neck. It has a long yellow beak with dark blue on the top. It has a medium blue stripe going from its beak to around its yellow eyes. The back of its head has a short dark blue stripe and four long feathers protruding from the head. Its neck and chest are gray, with heavy feathers hanging off the chest. It has medium blue back feathers and coverts. Its underbelly is light blue with gray thighs. Its primaries, secondaries, and tail base are dark blue. Its lower tail is a very dark blue. Its legs are gray and very long, with three toes in front and one toe in the back of each, with a black talon on each toe.

Trivia

General

• Ironically, both Heron skins showcase the swimming idle mechanic added in the update adding them. The hatchlings lack a swimming animation and play their land idle in water, while the adults have a swimming animation and have a slowed version of that animation in water.
