Adult

The adult is mostly brown with a white underbelly. It has a black head and neck with white cheeks. It also has a black beak and feet. It has a broad body with large wings and webbed feet. It has a fairly long neck and a short tail.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a primarily grayish brown small bird with a notably long neck. It has a cream underbelly, brown eyes, gray legs and a darker gray beak.

Adult

The adult is a grayish brown bird with a long neck. Its back and coverts are a grayish brown while the back of its neck and its wings are brown. Its throat, face, rear and lower tail are white. It has a distinct hump on its beak and a stripe on its face on the line of the beak.
