Gastornis is a playable bird in Feather Family. It's the fourth bird of the 2022 Summer of Fossils event, being released on July 15th, 2022.
Appearance[]
Chick[]
The chick is incredibly big. Its body is mostly cream brown with small, stubby wings and a small tuft for a tail. It has a yellow head and neck which continues in a yellow underbelly to the base of its tail, with its face having a brown cap and stripe around each eye. It stands on two red, wide legs. It has a grey, rounded beak and orange eyes.
Adult[]
The adult is a large bird of a sturdy build, with its body being mostly rounded in shape. Its primarily reddish-brown, with a beige underbelly and flight feathers, paired with blue secondaries. It also has a proportional tail fan, with the top layer being the color of its body and the second being bright blue. It has a white mask covering almost the entirety of its face, save for a thin, brown stripe running from its beak, through the eye and to the back of the head. It has a wide, rotund beak which is mostly bluish-grey, with a darker grey tip.

- Grow - Allows chick to grow into an adult Gastornis.

- Run - Increases walking speed. Triggers sprinting animation.
- Call - Gastornis makes a low, almost growl-like sound.
- Sit - Gastornis goes into a sitting position.
- Eat - Gastornis repeatedly pecks the ground.
- Hurt - Gastornis lays on its side with one leg limp above the body.
- Display - Gastornis slightly leans down and opens beak.
- Preen - Gastornis leans down and scratches its neck with its foot.
- Eyes - Opens or closes eyes.
- Fly - Displays a message stating that the gastornis is flightless.
Trivia[]
- Gastornis now takes Kelenken's old price at 1,600 feathers.
- Gastornis is the first bird whose Preen animation has no relation to its beak.
