Egg is a playable object in Feather Family.

Appearance

There are four variants of the regular egg. They all have an elliptical shape, have white shells and are around the size of an adult Sparrow.

Oval

The oval egg is slightly longer than it is tall.

Round

The round egg is more spherical, being around as long as it is tall.

Long

The long egg is much shorter than the others and horizontally stretched.

Pointy

The pointy egg is spherical on one side but narrows down on the other, making the shape of a rounded cone on that side.

Coloring

  • Shell - Colors the entire shell of the egg.

Actions

  • Shake - Egg shakes from side to side.
  • Crack - Egg twitches and a crack-like decal appears on the shell. Inputting Crack again makes the crack mark disappear.

Game Pass Eggs

Phoenix Egg

The phoenix egg is a special variant of the egg unlocked when purchasing the Phoenix with 400 Robux. It can be selected by choosing which form of the Phoenix to use. It is similar to the egg, but has plasma/lava running throughout it. It has the same emotes/abilities as the normal Egg.*

  • Shell - Colors the shell of the egg.
  • Extra - Colors the stream of plasma/lava running through the egg.

Cockatrice Egg

The cockatrice egg is a variant of the egg, which like the phoenix and peryton eggs, requires the Cockatrice game pass which costs 500 Robux. It can be used when selecting which form of the Cockatrice to play as. The shape of the egg is slightly longer and narrower, resembling a snake egg. It has the same emotes as every other Egg and has a similar coloring to the Phoenix and Peryton Eggs.

Cockatrice Egg Coloring

  • Shell - Colors base of egg.
  • Extra - Colors spots.

Peryton Egg

The peryton egg is a variant of the egg, which like the phoenix and cockatrice eggs, requires the Peryton game pass which costs 600 Robux. It can be used when selecting which form of the Peryton to play as. This egg uses the round shape with a small main blue body inside and a transparent blue shell around it.

Peryton Egg Coloring

  • Shell - Colors outer shell.
  • Extra - Colors inner shell.

Trivia

  • Egg originally didn't have different shapes, instead having size options (added prior to the resizing feature). In the Elephant Bird update, Egg was given shapes and the size options were removed and replaced with Egg's wider-than-average size tool, ranging from 50% to 400% as opposed to the usual 80% to 110% (105% without V.I.B.).
  • All of Egg's size options used the model of what is now the Oval egg.
    • The old egg options were, from smallest to largest: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large. 50% size is the same as Tiny, 100% is the same as Small, 200% is the same as Medium and 300% is the same as Large.
    • As Elephant Bird was known to lay the largest eggs of any bird, this update was likely intentional to release with it. The 400% size option is likely in place to replicate the size of their eggs.
  • Eggs have the least amount of color customization.
    • Eggs are the only organisms without an advanced coloring option or an ability to save color schemes. The game pass variants however do have advanced coloring.
  • Eggs are the only playable organisms in the game that can't sprint.
  • Egg's model uses the least amount of parts of any other bird.
  • Egg has the least amount of features in the Controls menu, with Griffin having the most.
  • Eggs did not have Crack until the Silkie Chicken update.
  • Egg is tied with Modern Griffin the most variants of any bird on a single skin, having four (Six if you include the Phoenix and Cockatrice eggs).
  • Eggs are unable to carry birds or items. They cannot interact with Prey either.
  • When carried by others, the Eggs are considered as babies.
  • Save files can't be loaded or saved when customizing any variant of the egg. This is likely due to the egg's customization being incredibly basic compared to that of any other bird.
  • Egg and Silkie Chicken the only standards with the inability to fly.
  • Eggs are the only playable organisms that can't build nests.
  • The egg originally had three different sizes as opposed to four.
  • Egg is the only bird with game pass exclusive variants.
  • Egg is the only bird without multiple life stage variants.
  • Even though both game pass eggs are implied to be of their respective species, you can still hatch into any bird you have previously unlocked.
