Cuckoo is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was added on March 22nd, 2024 alongside the Roadrunner skin.

Appearance

Chick

The chick is a small bird primarily covered in dark gray across its whole head, neck and back. Its eyes are brown and its beak is black. Its dark gray parts have light gray curved markings on them. Its underside is light gray with the same markings as the rest of the body. Its wings are a very dark gray with brown curved markings. Its tail is dark gray with white tips of each tail feather. It has yellow legs with two toes on each end of its feet.

Adult

The adult is an average sized bird covered in several grays. Its upper head and nape are a basic medium gray while its throat and lower head are a lighter gray with dull brown curved markings. Its eyes are red with yellow rings around them while its beak is yellow at the base and dark gray further out. Its back and coverts are dark gray while its wings and tail are a very dark gray. Its primaries tail tips and spots on the right of its tail are white. Its underside is a very light gray with medium gray curved markings. It has yellow legs with two toes on each end of its feet and a black talon on each toe.

General

• Cuckoo was intentionally misspelt in the game's title, description and messages on the group wall as 'cuccoo', since Roblox censors cuckoo.
• Cuckoo's hatchling is the first bird whose Eat animation doesn't focus on the ground.
• The Cuckoo hatchlings are the first birds to make full use of marking resizing. On the Common hatchling, its white tail tips are spots scaled to 300% where their gaps are so big that barely any of them appear. On the Roadrunner hatchling, the white parts of its crest and its tail markings are 300% line markings.

Common-Based

• The adult Common Cuckoo is the first clearly asymmetrical bird in the game. The markings on its tail only create spots on its left when its fan is closed.

The chick is a small bird primarily covered in dark brown across its whole head, neck, back, and wings. Its eyes are brown and its beak is black. Its dark brown parts have lighter brown line markings on them. It has a black crest of feathers on its head with small white bits. Its underside is light gray. Its tail is black gray with white parts. It has gray legs with two toes on each end of its feet.

Adult

The adult is an medium sized bird covered in several browns. Its head, nape, back and coverts are all dark brown. All except the coverts have lighter brown line markings while the coverts have feather markings of the same brown color. It has yellow eyes, a long gray beak and light blue streaks around each eye spanning far behind the eyes. It has a head crest of mostly black feathers with brown spots on them and a brown feather in front. Its throat has the same line markings as the head and is a very whitish brown. The underside is the same color as the throat. Its primaries and top tail are medium brown while its secondaries and most of lower tail are black. The tips of its lower tail are white. It has gray legs with two toes on each end of its feet and a dark gray talon on each toe.
