Cardinal is a playable bird in Feather Family. It was released on August 27th, 2021.
Appearance
Chick
The chick is a tiny, sparsely feathered bird with a brown head and body. It has brown eyes, a dandelion yellow beak and bright red individual feathers sparsely spread on its head, with three large ones connected on top of its beak. Its underside and thighs are a pale pink. Its wings and stubby tail are the same bright red as its head feathers. Its legs are dull pink with three toes in front and one toe in the back of each foot.
Adult
The adult is a small bird covered in various reds, most notably the bright red for its head and underside. It has brown eyes surrounded by a black mask that borders its red-orange conical beak. It has a backwards crest on its head that expands in certain animations. Its back, coverts and upper tail are dark red. Its primaries, secondaries and lower tail are a pinkish-brown. Its legs are brown with three toes in front and one toe in the back of each foot, with a black talon on each toe.

Trivia
- Cardinal was first announced in the game's description in the Falcon remodel update.
- Despite cardinals being noticeably sexually dimorphic, the Cardinal has no gender options, which is likely because the female only differs in color and not shape, meaning a separate model is not necessary. The Adult cardinal is based off the male Northern cardinal.
- Cardinal was the second bird added in 2021 and the first to be released in the second half of the year.
