Trivia

General

  • Archaeopteryx is the oldest animal in Feather Family, as it existed over 145 million years ago.
    • Archaeopteryx was likely added because of its reputation for being the 'first bird'. It is not the first bird however, being outdated by other avialans like Aurornis, Anchiornis and Xiaotingia.
  • The Hurt animation of the adult is a reference to a fossil found of the Archaeopteryx.
  • Archaeopteryx is one of the four avialans present in Feather Family, the others being Confuciusornis, Jeholornis and Sapeornis. It is the first one added of these.
    • Interestingly, every Summer of Fossils has had an avialan as its second bird: 2020 has Archaeopteryx, 2022 had Jeholornis and 2023 had Sapeornis.

Updated-Based

  • Archaeopteryx is the first bird to receive an updated skin after species skins started being implemented.
